Star Alliance: in come Avianca, Taca and Copa; is Tam on its way out?
Several articles on the Internet point to a new Star Alliance strategy for Latin America. Part of that strategy involves the entry into the alliance of airlines Avianca/Taca and Copa.
As a result of this move, Tam (still to be known as Lan Brasil in a not too distant future) would be virtually out of the Star Alliance, becoming a strong candidate to join Lan at Oneworld.
Once again, Brazil would end up without a local airline in the Star Alliance.
