Azul: new flights to Recife, Fortaleza, Manaus, Navegantes and Rio de Janeiro

Azul has announced new routes (all available for purchase but for the Rio de Janeiro flight):

The Campinas/Recife route we had already mentioned in the blog will have a new daily flight (this time in the morning) from 12 March: leaves from Campinas at 09:55 and lands in Recife at 13:10. Returns from Recife at 13:40 arriving in Campinas at 16:55.

Campinas/Fortaleza will initially have a night flight from 16 March (leaves from Campinas at 22:10 and lands in Fortaleza at 02:10. Returns from Fortaleza at 02:40 and lands in Campinas at 05:40) and a daytime flight from 1 April (leaves at 9:30 and lands at 13:00; returns at 13:30 and lands at 17:00).

Campinas/Manaus will have a night flight from March (leaves from Campinas at 22:50 and lands in Manaus at 01:05. Returns from Manaus at 01:35 and lands in Campinas at 05:50).

Campinas/Navegantes will have three daily flights from Campinas at 6:20, 10:05 and 17:55 returning from Navegantes at 7:50, 14:45 and 19:05. Navegantes airport is the entrance door to Camboriú and Blumenau.

Campinas/Rio de Janeiro (Galeão) will have a daily flight. As Azul is still fighting at the courts for the right to use Santos Dumont airport (domestic flights only), they are probably waiting to see what happens before they define their schedules to Rio.

Now Azul means business and the airlines that have the biggest share of the market will have to work hard to keep it that way. Even if the number of flights is not big, the destinations are important. Let’s see how the fares evolve. Make the most of the current situation, you never know when tariff competition will end.

Azul also has a new bus service (on top of the one leaving from São Paulo) from Barueri/Alphaville (Shopping Tamboré), on the outskirst of São Paulo, to Campinas airport.
