Star Alliance potential for growth in Latin America

The largest airline alliance of our times, Star Alliance, which will be joined by Tam shortly (TAM initiates proceedings to join the Star Alliance), has two new candidates from Central America: Taca and Copa.

Taca has already submitted an official request to join the alliance and is awaiting a reply.

Copa is a bit lost. Its main partner and patron at Skyteam, Continental, is leaving Skyteam and joining the Star Alliance. Chances are Taca won’t stay at Skyteam and will eventually join the Star Alliance too.
