United Airlines are studying a direct flight from San Francisco and Rio de Janeiro. It would become the first direct flight in operation linking California and Brazil. Tam to fly daily from Rio de Janeiro to Frankfurt
In October 2012 Brazilian airline TAM will increase its current four weekly flights between Rio de Janeiro and Frankfurt to a total of seven flights, offering a daily flight between Rio and Germany. Tam will use an Airbus 330 on the route – on its São Paulo-Frankfurt route it operates a Boeing 777.
